Prime Minister Narendra Modi showered praise and respect for controversial Dera chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh. Interestingly, this praise and respect comes six days after Dera chief rained sudden praise on Modi during a blood donation camp. Gurmeent Singh is facing alleged charges of raping two sadhvis (dera inmates) and CBI has already filed a chargesheet against him in the special CBI court. He is also facing trials in cases for his alleged involvement in the murders of dera manager Ranjit Singh and Sirsa-based journalist Ram Chander Chatterpatti. He is out on bail and facing trial in Panchkula-based special CBI court. Quite colourful character who calls himself Sant Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan also calls himself a fakir whom PM Narendra Modi has found to offer his pranam. From ‘rock star’ to actor: Dera Sacha Sauda chief changes roles After rock music, Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, the head of religious sect Dera Sacha Sauda, is all set to make his debut in films. The 47-year-old dera chief is currently busy shooting for a Hindi movie that has him and a a Malayalee actress in the lead. The dera authorities refuse to divulge details of the script or the name of actress.
