"Ha Ha right" Ever since Dwight Howard decided not to re-sign with the Los Angeles Lakers and instead join the Houston Rockets, it’s been rumored that the Lakers would make a run at LeBron James if he opts out of his current contract with the Miami Heat. Apparently, though, the Lakers plans for 2014 are bigger than just LeBron. The Lakers are looking at signing James and New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony, if he exercises the early termination option in his contract, according to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst and Ramona Shelburne. Opinions are split on whether the Lakers can actually land James or Anthony, with one source calling it “realistic” and another saying it was “far-fetched at this point.” Nonetheless, the Lakers have made it clear they are positioning themselves for a run at one and perhaps even two of the superstars who could become free agents in 2014, by refusing to commit to any contract past this next season, multiple sources have said. You’d figure Kobe Bryant would be in the mix here too. Though, he he would have to take a pay cut. He recently said on that subject:
