Hacienda has decided to separate the Infanta Cristina from the fiscal crimes of her husband, and so she won’t be facing any charges. A report from the Agencia Tributaria says that only Diego Torres and Iñaki Urdangarin are responsible for the crimes committed in the Nóos Institute. Nóos is alleged to have set up satellite companies in order to divest some eight million € of public money, and the same time selling Nóos as a charity institution. The inspectors have also disregarded Ana María Tejeiro, Diego Torres’s wife, who shared companies with her husband, in the same way as the Infanta. Diego Torres was charged on Friday with a new fiscal crime, the second, regarding his income tax return in 2007. The judge has called him to testify on July 3. Iñaki Urdangarin has faced three different accusations since January, two for income tax fraud and one for company tax in the years 2007 and 2008. Torres was believed to the intellectual part of the team, while Urdangarin was the institutional partner. Source: typically Spanish
