Had a brief and violent wind storm that lasted only about 15 minutes last night that was enough for us to lose power for about 7 hours.Identical type of short wind storm on July 3rd knocked power out for 2-1/2 hours around 6:30 pm just as we finished dinner. An icy, sleet and wet snow storm knocked power out in January for 17 hours....A WEEK after we had a generator installed that powers the entire house (including the central AC) and runs off the gas that heats our home. I had been thinking about having one installed ever since we lost power for 51/2 days a few summers ago and were really miserable. ( no computer, TV, refridgeration, hot water and reading books by candlelight/flashlight got old really fast) Lucked out finally putting it in when we did and wish we had done it sooner.
