Had a good pick at G St gardens tonight. Grilled heirloom Toms topped the list, but the sautéed Blue Lake beans with Banana Peppers was a close second. Corn is almost ready, and now is 12 ft high, even though I have 4 plants cohabitating in a big half wine barrel. Basil and sage are over grown, but delicious. Thought I had a black thumb, but I guess not. Who knew? Next season, I till a 40 by 5 foot section of the back yard and go big. Taters, more peppers, garlic, onions, lettuces, more corn, squashes, and more herbs. Having nights off now means more home cookin! Fun, and oh so tasty/satisfying.
