Had a medical emergency at work yesterday that I had to respond - TopicsExpress

Had a medical emergency at work yesterday that I had to respond to. Without divulging any medical details (obvious reasons), the gentleman was/is a veteran. Been having issues daily since returning to civilian life & will continue to for the duration of his existence. Although Im appreciative of those whove served already -- actually seeing it tangibly gave me an even deeper appreciation. Just to see how this gentlemans life has been affected touched me to the core. Made me realize how much of a sacrifice men & women like him have given...and then to think of how poorly theyve been served in return....pitiful. Makes me angry. I looked at him as if I failed him myself. In many ways, I probably did because Im one of millions in this country who dont advocate for our veterans. Oh sure...we shout them out on social media & give them token love. They deserve FAR MORE than that. From today forward?? Im going to do more than give our veterans a token salute. Im going to advocate for them. Every elected official I come into contact with?? Caring for our veterans is gonna be a core issue in how I vote & they will know such. This is MY thank you to our veterans. Its the least I can do for those who give us their very lives. Love is love❤ #Salute #Veterans #Dedicated #ThankYou #Freedom #IndependenceDay
