Had a reply from Lambeth Palace.....Dear Ms Jones - Archbishop Justin is on leave at the moment with his family, after which he will go straight away to South America on the next of his visits to every Primate in the Anglican Communion. I have therefore been asked to write thanking you for your message. The Archbishop has no standing in the future of the war memorial in Fenton Town Hall, indeed, I am not sure that anyone in the Church has, other than as a grateful Englishman who would be sad to see the recognition of the sacrifice made by of his fellow countrymen consigned to a skip. I assume you have been in touch with the British Legion and the War Memorials Trust to seek their support. It might also be something the V & A museum would be interested to hear about.
