Had a spiritual day. Started early loading RV and checking out of the hotel. Dogs got to stay in the RV. We went to The Spoken Word which is a broadcast with the orchestra and the Tabernacle choir. In the summer, it is too crowded to do the broadcast from the Tabernacle so they do the performances in the new conference center across the street. Because this is a broadcast, I have no photos but the broadcasts are available on the internet. Incredible... After this, we met up with Stanley Johnson, who served his mission in the Salem area ten years ago. He brought his beautiful wife and three children for us to meet. They took us on tour of Temple Square. We then had lunch and met Rich and Cheri Gumaelius, friends from Salem who moved to Salt Lake 2 1/2 years ago to serve in the churchs genealogy library. Now they train others to do this. We went to church with them at 3:00 ...yes...they have church services all day because there are just so many! They go to church in the old Hotel Utah that is now the Joseph Smith Building....it has a chapel on the second floor that is beautiful. Then Rich and Cheri took us to see more sites and the beautiful flowerbeds, gardens and fountains. It is so wonderful to have friends here! After a long day, we are on the road again. To Yellowstone we go....!
