Had a very unpleasant experience on the train in this morning. Some Carte Blanche plonks himself in an empty seat next to mine (there were alternative empty seats by male travelers, I was the only female in that carriage) and then has the audacity to suggest I find somewhere else to sit because I was making him uncomfortable! I cant imagine how sitting by yourself in peace on a train reading a book could make anyone feel uncomfortable. Some people have a really warped sense of entitlement! I mean was he hoping for some conversation or something? I told him Im sorry he felt that way and that he had a similar option and decided it was time for some worship music on my iPod. Sometimes you just need to cleanse your personal environment of what other people bring with them. He made impolite gestures the entire trip in-between sending emails on the blackberry (yes, rude man, I know your name now) and actually leaned in to check my travelcard when the ticket inspector came by! Seriously!! So sad, with his genteel looks if I had met said fellow at a networking event I would have thought he was a paragon of refinement. Dude, I sympathize if you have to travel in every morning from the continent to work in London but please keep your negative energies to yourself.
