Had an amazing 45 minute subway ride to Coney Island, to celebrate the first summer weekend. On my car came two black guys with a music machine which played hip hop. They pole danced - upside down, right side up, on the bars which people use as handrails, etc. Very athletic and talented. Then, they got off. Minutes later, three Mexican musicians got on, with sombreros etc., and played and sang, with a guitar and a snare instrument. Then, they got off. Minutes later, two other Mexican men, one dressed elegantly in a black jacket and pants, got on and played guitar quite excellently. Then, they got off. Minutes later, a man carrying about 50 bags of cotton candy - every color of the rainbolw - got on, holding the candy above his head like colored ballons. A little girl sitting next to me got $2 from her mom, went over to the man and came back with a bag of cotton candy, very happy. Then, we arrived to a beautiful beach day. And this is why I love New York!
