Had an upsetting experience at our local Neighborhood Walmart - TopicsExpress

Had an upsetting experience at our local Neighborhood Walmart tonight! While standing in the check-out lane, I witnessed a male and female checking out in the Self-check-out lane next to me. I saw them pass items from one to the other without scanning them and placing them in bags. I brought this fact to the attention of my cashier, her response was, Well, theyll have to live with themselves. I said, can you not check their bags to see if their receipt matches up with the items in the bag and she replied, No! So, I walked over to the Associate standing at the little podium that oversees the self-check-!out lanes. I explained what was going on. She did absolutely nothing! The couple checked out, had about 5 or 6 bags of groceries and a receipt with about 20 items on it. My cashier explained that it is store policy, that only management can do something and only if they actually see thieves take the items. I witnessed this couple put huge packages of hot dogs, ground beef, etc., in bags and not scan the items. That constitutes a loss for Walmart, which will get passed on to you and I, the paying consumer! Its no wonder the price of a bag of apples is now $4.77! Im considering boycotting these large corporate stores if this is the type of policies they have adopted. Mom and Pop stores may charge more, but at least my money will go to hardworking, honest people instead of thieves!
