Had my pre-appointment with radiation oncologist today to prep for treatment start next week. This involved creating a body mold to ensure torso is in the exact same position every for each of 30 irradiations. Also laser mapping of field to be irradiated and marking witness marks on skin...first with magic marker and then (at intersection points) with a single-stick think of it as a one-pixel tattoo...ten of them. Saw one in the mirror and it is the same size, color and style as the one on our rescue dogs privates that shows he was neutered. [insert you own joke here] The worst part was the three attempts at inserting the CT scan dye IV...even though I have a catheter port, they insisted on an arm IV, which left a pool of blood on the floor about the size of...looking around the room...lets say a TV tray table top. Those who have served with me will be utterly shocked at the fact that not once...not even once...did the ladys ineptness cause me to drop an F bomb...at least not out loud. The whole tattooed Jew thing really did trouble me, but medical necessity outweighs the prohibition in the 613 mtzvot (commandments).
