Had someone ask me today about body wraps. I guess because Im the resident skeptic over here. I know a few of my friends sell them and/or use them, but heres the deal: The devil is always in the details. In this case, read the fine print and examine the claims. Where is the science (not their science, actual peer reviewed science)? Do you know what a toxin is? Do you know how fat cells work? These products have been around forever and any Marine or wrestler wanting to shave a few pounds of water weight will tell you that wrapping yourself in a garbage bag, covered in Vaseline, and sitting in a hot steam shower for an hour will lose a lot of water weight. But what about an all natural cream wrap placed or wrapped around fat areas? Will those all natural chemicals go through your pores and activate the toxins in your fat cells to make your body expel toxins in some kind of inflammatory response? No. Totally bogus. Sorry kids. Youre seeing the same result of compression that you can get from wearing socks that were too small. Theres a lot of toxin debunking actual science out there. Try a wrap. Weigh yourself before and after. They claim to lose inches not pounds. If youre not losing pounds, where do those inches go? Theyre being compressed. Youll get them right back. Thats why youre told to diet and exercise. Why not just skip the wraps, and diet and exercise? If it sounds to good to be true, it probably is. Dont buy snake oil.
