Had the experience today of going down the TSA rabbithole. Got to Miami from Costa Rica. Was selected out of the line to have my baggage x-rayed because of my work Pelican case, not my suitcase or backpack but all three had to be x-rayed. Passed x-ray inspection. Grabbed my suitcase (on swivel wheels) and my pelican (hand carry) and off I went walking what seemed like miles to get to the US Aiways counter. Checkwd bags and got boarding pass. Of course, my terminal was ALL THE WAY ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE AIRPORT. Started walking and realized I felt very light. (This is where the TSA comes in.) I realized I had left my backpack back at the x-ray machine ... I had to walk all the way back yo the point I exited the TSA immigration checkpoint, refill out s declaration form (you have to have one to re-enter the area ...) them wait for 20 minutes to have the one lady that performs that function come to escort me back to the x-ray machine because she was already helping another passenger who had done the same thing. End of story ... backpack recovered, legs tired from walking a marathon, and waiting for flight back to Philly ...
