Had the pleasure and honor of speaking with LA State Senator Elbert Guillory who made the decision to leave the Democrat party. Now more than ever we need strong voices to demonstrate the black community is not politically monolithic. We must diversify our political capital and invest across the entire political spectrum. Our failure to do so has resulted in several generations adversely affected by a failed social welfare system that has decimated the foundation of our community, the family. I pray he is prepared for the barrage of criticism and vitriol he will receive for making his decision.
