Had the privilege of speaking to a set of vibrant young provincial councillors and local government representatives of the United National Party ahead of the much anticipated elections. I touched on how the Samawadhi Shishya Peramuna played an active role during 1970s in reviving the party and also how young people have always been given due importance and recognition within the party to rise up irrespective of their political background, religion and caste. The gathering was organized by the National Youth Front (Jathika Yowun Peramuna) at the party headquarters, Sirikotha.
