Had this conversation earlier today with a friend: Friend: look, bottom line, you are never gonna need a weapon with that much ammunition capacity. It is just paranoia. Me: Ok, ok. *thinks for a sec* What kind of car do you drive again? Friend: I know, I know, cars kill people too and all that bs. Me: Thats not what Im getting at. What kind of car? Friend: Ill bite. Camaro Z 28. 2000-something, I dunno. Me: Nice, nice. What kind of engine? Him: A 6 banger, what are you getting at? Me: How fast is it? Him: Think the speedometer goes to 130. Me: Interesting. You know, Ive never seen a 130 speed limit sign. Why on earth would you buy a car that does anything over 75? Do you plan on breaking the law? Him: Man, it aint the same. If something... Me: What? If something happens youd rather have the speed available, than need it and not have it, regardless of how unlikely you need to drive that fast to... to what? Outrun a tsunami? Drive into the past? Drive and clear a jump? Is it just nice to have the capability just in case. Guns are the same way. As unlikely as it is to happen, you dont want to have to reload every third round with a bear mauling your daughter. He stormed off in a fit. I need to stop having conversations like this with people.
