Hafa Adai (in the Chamorro language indigenous to Guam and Saipan--equivalent to Aloha in Hawaiian, Ia Orana in Tahitian, and Kia Ora in Maori)--i.e. Greetings! Had a nice free day today here on Guam and have just come back from some GREAT swimming in the ocean here at Tumon Bay! Very nice water! Better being here now, with 85-degree weather, than back in Youngstown where it is 20 right now, with snow flurries! Today, the Festival activities consisted of high school groups playing jazz and rock things and being evaluated by a panel of adjudicators--similar to what I did yesterday with the piano participants. There was a nice picnic laid out for us all earlier today before these activities began today--in a nearby park where there is an amphitheatre. Now, its time for me and my buddy Jack (Daniels!) to have a bit of an intersection as I sit outside my condo unit here and watch the sunset come. I can see the ocean from here. Thats the life, folks!! As George Gershwin put it so succinctly: who could ask for anything more?!!!
