Hafiz day 55 THROW ME ON A SCALE Today love has completely gutted me. I am lying in the market like a Filleted grouper, Speechless, Every desire and sinew absolutely silent But I am still so fresh. Everything is now the same to me. Listen: The touch of a beautiful woman As she lifts me near, Drawing my scent into her body; She thinks about taking me home. The touch of a wondrous fly Drinking my vital fluids Through a strange shaped flute, The sun laying its radiant gaze against my cheek, Human voices and the breeze from a passing Horses tail, All send miraculous currents int my world. Gods beauty has split me wide open. Throw Hafiz on a scale, Wrap me in a cloth, Bring me home. So many sights and sounds sending miraculous currents into my world. We left the mountain villa at 5:30 to return the car in La Spezia, Cy at the wheel zipping around hairpin curves out of the mountains down to the Mediterranean. We ditched the car for a train and were startled at the amazing colors of the water! White to azure, to ultra marine. We took a ride to the middle of 5 towns along this area, Cinque Terre and walked back to the town we are staying at. The delicate skirts of the poppy, the ragged rocks dropping off sheer into the sea, olive groves with their nets draped and tied up under them. Such pristine dramatic beauty. The whole day--we slipped into the waters cool and refreshing. Fatigue, and lack of sleep paints a thin veil over the landscape--I am not singing so loudly--just humming along--every desire and sinew soon to be absolutely silent--but still so fresh. So in love with this whole crazy world.
