Hahaha you gys are very strong. Picked this up somewhere: I am going to raise an extremely uncomfortable topic tonight. In Joburg, there is a common and very popular argument that suggests that Xhosa women are promiscuous. It is argued by many women (and men) that Xhosa women are notorious for being the cause of break-ups in relationships, as they are alleged to not be hesitant to be the other woman, and apparently hold a theory that no man is exclusive to any woman. What I want to know is, what informs such arguments? What makes such a problematic argument so popular that it ends up being accepted and not condemned with the contempt it deserves (I say this because it is actually normal to hear someone saying things like Ke moXhosa, o ne o tshepileng)? What is the basis for such an argument? I expect a reasonable discussion; no insults against anyone will be tolerated.
