Hall of Failures TERAH: FINISHING FAILURE We don’t hear so - TopicsExpress

Hall of Failures TERAH: FINISHING FAILURE We don’t hear so much about the father of Abraham, the father of faith. But today the spotlight is put on this man called Terah. As has been our custom for our characters under study, Terah will tell his story and we will apply it to our own lives. “Well my name is Terah. Many of you know my son AB (as I affectionately called him) than myself,” he said quite boastfully. “I set out with my family to go to Canaan, the Promised Land, but never achieved this in my lifetime due to problems I couldn’t overcome,” he said. Going by the Pareto Principle that states that 20% of people on earth are at the centre of 80% of value production, it is a fact that many people begin great ventures and lives but only 20% can actually share their testimony of finishing their race. Many succumb to the cares of the world and the pressures of life. We simply give up on the anvil of tough times. In this current global economic mess, many companies have gone from good and great to bad and worse. Many leaders have become monsters. Enviable systems have turned into viruses. What have you set out to achieve? Have you built enough capacity to withstand difficult times? Whilst you are excited about starting things, make sure your foundation is solid to absorb the shocks. Make sure you count the cost before you move. Don’t take things for granted. Enjoy today. October 2014, Knowledge for Living
