Halloween of last year, Jon, Christina, and I sat on a carport - TopicsExpress

Halloween of last year, Jon, Christina, and I sat on a carport eating the KitKat bars that were supposed to be for the trick-or-treaters. Mixed into the bowl were these toy party rings with colorful fake rhinestones in the middle, surrounded by plastic diamond-looking circles. Jon, annoyed with the quickly changing ratio of rings to KitKats, removed a green ring from the bowl and slid it firmly onto my finger. You didnt even ask my permission! I argued, taking it off and placing it back into the bowl. Christina, chuckling, went in to check on (something?) and upon her departure, Jon replied It makes me really sad that you gave it back, please wear it. I wore that ring for the remainder of the night. Its current location is unknown. Later that winter, Jon took a vacation to Michigan, and we messaged each other during Christmastime, talking of the winters and holidays we could spend together in the future. Now, here in Michigan, snow has decorated the ground as far as I can see. The weather makes us happy and eager for the holidays. Today, we went outside with the ambitions of building an igloo. When it became evident that an igloo would not be built (after an hour or more of tedious labor), the two of us abandoned our endeavor and just played. Freezing and tired, we collapsed into the circle of what would have been our igloo. As I rolled a snowball, Jon fiddled with things. I began to notice that my bottom was becoming a block of ice, so I stood, stepped out of the circle, and without looking back, called Im leaving you! jokingly. But.. Jon called as I turned, wait, I want you to marry me. And sure enough, in Jons hands, there is a red box, and in it is a small ring, this time with a real emerald stone in the center, and this time surrounded by real diamonds. I stumble back into the circle, blushing too hot for the freezing weather. I dont remember saying yes. Maybe I didnt. But I remember Jon and I removing my gloves so that my hands were bare. Jon slid the ring onto my finger, and we kissed.
