MANZINI – Private Investigator, Hunter Vusi Shongwe has been arrested and charged for assaulting his girlfriend after she allegedly ended the affair. The private investigator was charged with common assault which he pleaded not guilty to. The offence is said to have taken place inside Shongwe’s office, near Mahhala, next to Engen Filling Station last Saturday. Shongwe’s girlfriend of three years, Nosipho Dlamini (20) told the court that the suspect could not accept that she had terminated their love affair. “After I had informed him that the affair was over, he demanded the items that he had bought for me, a digital camera and a cellphone. I then decided to go to his office but unfortunately I did not have the camera with me at the time as it was with my aunt who was not available,” Dlamini said. She mentioned that when she got to Shongwe’s office, she placed the phone on his desk and when she headed for the door, the suspect grabbed her and closed the door demanding that she empty her handbag so he could have her other phone. “This was after I had told him that I did not have the digital camera with me. He demanded I give him my phone and I told him that it was impossible as I had bought it with my own money. He took out an electronic taser as he knew I was scared of it and threatened to silence me with it. I had already started screaming because he was man-handling me,” the complainant told the court. “I love him your worship, however, the only thing that always made us fight was the fact that he could not understand that I had other boyfriends and I could not give my heart to one man. I was only his girlfriend and not his wife and I could not remain faithful to him because of that,” the complainant said much to the laughter of the people inside the courtroom including the magistrate.
