Hanuman’s Duty Consciousness Hanuman was always conscious of his duty. He recognized the Divine Couple in Lord Shri Rama and Mother Sita. He performed the most intense search for Mother Sita without wasting time and overcoming obstacles. His sincerity towards his duty is evident from the following When Hanuman and his team were wondering about how to cross the ocean to reach Lanka, Jambavan praised Hanuman and reminded of his actual potential. Hanuman then took Viswaroop uttering ‘Jai Shri Ram!’. He flew as swift as an arrow from Mahendragiri (mountain). On the way, his friend Mainaka (Personification of Mountain) asked him to rest for 2 or 3 days, promising good hospitality. Maruti turned down his request stating that he was urgently searching for Mother Sita and hence he had no time. He said to Mainaka that he would accept his request later, who then let him way. Next enroute to Lanka, arouse Surasa, a Female Sea Monster, which was sent by Celestials to test Jithendra. Surasa said that she was hungry and wanted to prey upon Hanuman. Hanuman replied that he would fulfill her request once Mother Sita’s whereabouts are known and she returned back to Lord Shri Rama. But, Surasa did not agree and asked Hanuman to go into her mouth and come out. Surasa believed she can eat Hanuman during that time. She promised to give way if Hanuman was successful. But Hanuman cleverly outwitted her by suddenly shrinking into very small size and went into her mouth and came out. She then accepted his smartness and let way. Finally, upon reaching Lanka, Anirudh overpowered Simhika, who was frontier-Guardian of Lanka. Thus, Aparajith is a perfect example of duty consciousness and wastes no time during his mission. Jai Shri Ram! Jai Jai SitaRam!!
