Happiness doesnt depend on any external conditions, it is - TopicsExpress

Happiness doesnt depend on any external conditions, it is governed by our mental attitude - Dale Carnegie And so is equality.. As a matter of fact, I woke up a couple of days ago with another revelation... Equality is a state of mind... it happened as soon as my eyeballs pop open...I drew this conclusion, in part, after watching the State of the Union address... Where I watched people falling all over the President of the United States as he exited the Hall of Congress... I marveled at this... I understand its an honor to meet an individual who hold such a position... But these people looked as though they were meeting a rockstar... Like a giddy teenager, when the Beatles at the United States during the British Invasion... they treat him as though he WERE a king... which may have something to do with the fact that he acts like one...and then I thought about the idea that people have commented regarding reverence for the office... but the truth is, our system was designed said that individual who led us was supposed to BE our equal... if we are culturally programmed, for lack of a better term, to believe that people who hold positions like the presidency... or senators and congressmen... or CEOs.... or ministers or law enforcement... or people who have lots of money... or a great education... are superior to us , then however are we going to come to the conclusion that we are all equal... theres a biblical philosophy which suggests that God is no respecter of persons... he reigns on the just and the unjust... he treats us all the same no matter our position or station in life... no matter our color... no matter our age..No matter our gender... and in my humble opinion, we should have no greater respect for a man who hold the positions such as the presidency as we do for one another... Ive met rockstars... they are human... and along with politicians are members of authority... they bleed red... are susceptible to illness.. can follow up on hard times... are subject to the frailties of life.... they put on their clothes just like the rest of us... they are not smarter... or better... or magical... and when you begin to think a pond yourself in your own accomplishments as valuable you also begin to look at other individuals differently... you are equal, because you were born equal... and the only person in this world who would ever persuade other people to embrace this idea, is you... because the way other people treat us is often a reflection of the way that we feel we deserve to be treated... equality should move from the Battle of Rights to an activity of resolve... you will find that if you learn to respect yourself and respect others... you also will be respected... it is all a state of mind...
