Happy 4th of July - Independence Day! The prompt is : You have a message We receive all kinds of messages in life. Messages tell us how to live, where to vacation, what to eat, how to cook and then how to exercise it all away. Gods first concern is always toward the spiritual part of a persons life, not the physical. Because of the relentless spotlight placed on the need to look and act a certain way, depression, eating disorders, low self esteem and anxiety top the list of problems people are most likely to struggle with. However, these are only symptoms of a more serious dilemma. When we seek to become something apart from Jesus Christ, we end up chasing a very elusive shadow. Even if we do achieve a certain status, there is always something else on the horizon demanding more from us, someone prompting us to think we need to become or need something other than what we have in order to be happy.But, the person who finds his or her identity in Jesus Christ has freedom and Peace.If you are struggling with thoughts of inadequacy, ask God to make His love for you very, very clear. He will never place unhealthy expectations on you, so why would you. Nor does He say you have to reach a certain status before He can Love you. The moment you except His Son as your Lord and Savior, He comes into your heart with perfect love and acceptance, He created you and is bound in love to you forever. Oh, and by the way, Each time God created something, He looked upon it and He declared it good, not needing improvement!
