Happy 7th Anniversary to my amazing, intelligent, beautiful and super fun partner in this life! Ten years ago, Camila and I met while in law school, fell deeply in love and were married three years later in some of my favorite mountains in upstate New York. Three cities, various professions (sorry for the bait and switch – lawyer to musician!), multiple international jaunts, river expeditions, some fish, one dog, and two incredible kids later – that love continues to flourish. We’ve found the perfect place to grow together in Colorado. Congratulations to you, Camila, on all of your impressive successes. And a heartfelt ‘thank you’ for all you’ve given me, shared with me and shown me. Most precious is the family that we’ve built together. Here is a song I wrote about a week ago for our newest and snuggliest addition, Elodie. With all my love and affection... On a somewhat related note, I’d also like to send this song out to all my friends and loved ones who have either had a baby or lost a parent recently. These joys and losses seem to be abounding these days. To date, these are the most intense experiences in my lifetime, and I suppose it is not coincidence that the most joyful and painful of human days are so entwined. With these experiences comes a new level of appreciation for the lives weve been given and for those with whom we share them.
