Happy Birthday to our Army #NationalGuard Chaplains and Chaplain - TopicsExpress

Happy Birthday to our Army #NationalGuard Chaplains and Chaplain Assistants. July 29, 1775, a resolution regarding Army pay included a reference to chaplains, beginning the official recognition of the Chaplain Corps of the Continental Army. Army Guard chaplains trace their origins to the Pequot War of 1637. Then and now, the chaplain’s mission remains the same: Nurture the Living, Care for the Wounded, Honor the Fallen. The chaplain seeks to sustain the most important asset in our Army National Guard: the Citizen-Soldier. From drill weekends to domestic operations to overseas missions, the chaplain brings the sacred perspective that provides hope for the Soldier and guidance for the command. Every chaplain has the great responsibility of performing or providing for the spiritual needs of all soldiers in our formations. The need for religious support that is “on time and on target” will remain an enduring requirement as long as Soldiers serve our states and nation. The chaplains of our Army National Guard stand ready. Happy 239th, Chaplain Corps!
