Happy December 1st everyone. I have to be honest.... I am not feeling very festive this year, perhaps it is because I look around at my kids and see that they have so much stuff, and I wonder how much more they need. So this year Lulu and I will be doing some shopping for others..... So many of my local friends have wondered what we can do.....I thought some of you might want to participate with us I thought I would let you know some local needs and please feel free to ask me questions Homeless shelter........ So many people, mostly men, will be sleeping rough this year and their needs are really rather simple...... Gently used warm clothing/jackets/ sweater etc..... Also mens toiletries are always appreciated and here are the big ones...... Socks, gloves, hats, underwear etc. if you are out shopping..... Pick up a few of these items and know that someone will be warm and more comfortable this year Rugby food bank. They would love to put into their Christmas hampers some food and small gifts that kids would enjoy...... Think of the chocolates and biscuits that your kids enjoy and then buy an extra package. They can include some very small presents such as colouring pencils, stickers, lip balms etc but due to their storage capacity, nothing large Young carers of warwickshire 6-8 year olds who care for parents with issues ranging from MS to mental health issues are having a Christmas party on the 13th...... I would love to see 30 presents that we can get to them for the children who are often from rather disadvantaged situations. I am suggesting a gift of 15-20 quid for either a boy or a girl. If you get the gifts to me I can take care of wrapping them and delivering them to the organization. Warwickshire young carers 9-18 year old support group is doing a Christmas party and they h ace said that their biggest need is donations for the party food. They want to do a pizza party but the org. Simply does not have the funds I know that this is a busy and expensive time of year for everyone....... If you want to help make a difference to some of these neighbours let me know..... I can pick up at your house, I can wrap your presents I can even take any donations and do the shopping for you...... I just want to see if together we can make a Christmas miracle happen. Jenni
