Happy New Year Sim! Well the gang have just left and despite all the coughs and colds weve had a brilliant night. You wouldnt believe how much the kids were looking forward to playing bingo..........such a shame the big kids won the prizes first. Fair play we had some good prizes too. We had a lot of fun with pass the parcel.....whoever it landed on had to do a dance.........there was a lot of twerking going on( you dont want to know about that Sim!) Daddys buffet was awesome as usual and hes trained Jess up really well now. I taught Lucy to knit today and it was lovely to see Nanna Mellin adding quite a few rows in a short time........she hasnt lost her touch and showed Lucy how to cast off. Jess did a few rows too. Nice to see another activity other than all the technology. I confiscated Melanies phone while we played bingo and she lasted for 2 hours......her face was a picture mind and we all teased her like mad! Well as you can see weve had a great time but underlying it all there is that unmistakeable feeling that something is not quite right. Its awful when a new year starts as we know its the start of another one without you and another year to add on. But Daddy and I so enjoy having them all here they bring us so much pleasure. Its strange that its such a happy home but with an ever present unseen sadness. But although this doesnt get any easier with each passing year, we take our inspiration from you and try to live our lives to the full and make the most of everything. Miss you with all our hearts Sim .......Id give anything for just one real conversation with you . All my love Mam and of course, your Dad. x
