Todays Fresh Manna (23.1.2015) The Overflowing Life- 11 (A New Series on the Overflowing Life) *********************** Obey to Overflow ******************** John 21:6 He said to them, “Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.” So they cast it, and now they were not able to haul it in, because of the quantity of fish. (ESV) The professional fishers have toiled whole night as usual and perhaps, with more efforts, but for some strange unknown reasons, they caught nothing. And they had no inkling of any other means to make their ends meet that day. They had nothing to eat for breakfast that morning. Now suddenly the scene changes and unexpected thing happens because the Lord of abundance comes to them without warning. The Lord stands before them and asks for anything to eat. Just like He asked the Samaritan woman to give a drink, He asked the hopeless disciples to let them see who was asking them. But their eyes were shut from seeing Him and from knowing who it was asking them for food. The Lord asked people only to give them plenty. As with Samaritan woman, the disciples at Bethsaida to feed the crowds and now the backslidden disciples. He also asked the impotent man at the pool of Siloam whether he wanted to be healed so He could grant him healing that day that he waited for 18 long years. After hearing their honest confession of hopeless efforts, the Lord commanded that they cast the net on the right side to catch some fish. When they obeyed and acted on His Word, they caught multitude of fishes that they had no strength to draw them to the shore. When the Lord was not with them, they could catch nothing in spite of their best and expert efforts. Now in obedience to the Lords Words, they acted and saw what they never expected nor experienced earlier. Simple obedience brought such tremendous and abundant blessing. Often we want to understand how and why and so on, before we do what the Word of God says. God wants us to obey wholeheartedly and honor His Wisdom and not depend on our knowledge or prior experience. Many times we do not understand how the Lord works His plans and how and when He wants to bless us, yet we can trust and obey Him, if we truly love the Lord Jesus. Then you will see multiplied blessings that overflow your life. Amen. Trust and obey, for theres no other way, to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.....
