Happy Saturday and EL Dia De Los Muertos Yall! Today is EL Dia De Los Muertos or the Day of the Dead. is a Mexican holiday celebrated throughout Mexico and around the world in other cultures. The holiday focuses on gatherings of family and friends to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died. It is particularly celebrated in Mexico, where the day is a bank holiday. The celebration takes place on October 31, November 1 and November 2, in connection with the Christian triduum of Hallowmas: All Hallows Eve, All Saints Day and All Souls Day. Traditions connected with the holiday include building private altars called ofrendas honoring the deceased using sugar skulls, marigolds, and the favorite foods and beverages of the departed and visiting graves with these as gifts. They also leave possessions of the deceased. (wikipedia) How do we want to be remembered? Do we want to be remembered as someone who worked a lot? Do we want to be remembered as someone had left the planet with a lot of unfilled wishes and dreams? Do we want be remembered as someone who always said “I’ll (fill in the blank) or have some fun or make time for that relationship as soon as (fill in the blank) happens?” What are we waiting for? We never know when that last day will come. If we’re feeling anxious or depressed about what’s currently happening in our lives and if we’re aware of that prodding in the back of our minds that a change has to come...begin the journey before it’s too late (it’s only too late after we pass away). Our hopes, aspirations, dreams and desires are the things that God put there and wants to experience through us, by us. If we never endeavor to make our dreams a reality, we’ll never learn those important (personal) spiritual lessons that are intended for us. We need to remember that our journey on our way to expressing those dreams and aspirations are just as important as the destination. We all are beautiful in our own right and we all have very special lessons to learn and messages to share. Let us find the courage within ( The Courage of God) to begin that journey in realizing our dreams and aspirations and not let the fear of failure stop us.
