Happy Seventy-First Birthday to Joe Pesci that was born February 9, 1943 that won the Academy Award for his role in Goodfellas, but made me laugh in 8 Heads in a Duffel Bag, and thoroughly fascinated me with his performances in JFK and The Public Eye. While I think Marisa Tomei stole certain scenes in “My Cousin Vinny”, except I cannot imagine any other actor having both chemistry with her, as did Joe Pesci, especially how Pesci had chemistry with each actor & actress. Although Joe Pesci has been occasionally mentioned on the Internet as being from a Sicilian background, I was not able to find which cities his family once called home, other than New Jersey, although the fact his last-name ends with the letter of -i, instead of an -e, probably indicates a Sicilian heritage. Heres an interesting Italian factoid, while its usual for actors & actresses to have one voice represent their dialogue in foreign translations of their movies, the Italian voice-actors that translated the roles played by Joe Pesci have been voiced by ten different people! Most of all, I admire how in the early 1990s, Joe Pesci defended the respect that should have been afforded Pope John Paul II. Happy Birthday, Joe Pesci!!!
