Happy TBT Charger family this weeks featured player is five time Pro Bowler Kellen Winslow. Winslow played his entire NFL career 1979-1987 with the San Diego Chargers. He was a first round draft pick from the University of Missouri. He became the first ever tight end to lead the league in receptions in back-to-back seasons. In 1981 he tied the NFL record by catching five touchdowns passes. In the legendary 1981-82 playoff game in Miami he caught 13 passes for 166 yards and a touchdown, while also blocking a field goal with seconds left in the game, bringing the game into overtime. He did all this while being treated for a pinched nerve in the shoulder, dehydration and severe cramps. Later this game would come to be known as the Epic in Miami and for Winslow it would come to be known as one of the greatest single player efforts in NFL history. One of the pictures posted shows 2 players helping him off the field at the end of that game. Former Chargers assistant Coach Al Saunders called him a wide receiver in an offensive linemans body. Kellen Winslow was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995 Thank You Kellen Winslow! Rock on San Diego Chargers!
