Happy Thanksgiving America We really need to fix it Before it breaks So many lives lost Before they had a chance to live We win World Wars Only to lose our own kids at home This shining beacon of light No longer glows Instead its been dimmed down some People risking life and limb Literally, simply, to get in Floating cross the seas Or packed into trucks, like Sardines Some crawl on broken bones Simply to make it here To call it, home How do you protect yourself from yourself Wear a hood in the hood Carry a Toy gun in the park Before it gets dark Remember, Its only pretend Until you get shot Go to school and be safe Learn from teachers Who teach love not hate Hoping that a crazed kid Hasnt stolen his mothers gun And turned the classrooms into blood You could write a book About the horrors of Sandy Hook The mother of all thats wrong A school now gone Bulldozed down Its now a lawn Copyright DR Dreamer
