Happy Thanksgiving! I want to share this brief story and potent life lesson with you... When I walked into the corner pharmacy looking for just a nail file, I had no idea that I would leave with such a profound revelation... I needed a nail file otherwise I was going to chew off a rough fingernail... What a problem to have! At first, I noticed a wall on the left full of utensils for those with arthritis. Wow, cool! Its great that there are some many nice utensils that are easier to handle for so many people. Across the store was a space full of wheelchairs and dollies with air tanks and other things I didnt recognize, Whoa! I had no idea what a variety of devices were available. In the middle of the store were the rows of shelves with everything you can imagine for your eyes, skin, teeth, feet... And, of course, in the back was the pharmacy. Why was I in here? Oh yeah... A nail file. Was that it? Was that all I needed? Was that my big problem? There were so many useful things in this pharmacy! But all I needed was a fingernail file. Not much by comparison with all that was available for a myriad of other issues I was thankful not to have. And Im thankful that all those things are available for others and even me someday if/when I may need them. Thank you to the people who created them and got them to market! Im often mindful of all that I do have, but rarely so vividly reminded to be thankful for what I dont have! Something to consider. So far so good! Im thankful for that.
