Happy Tuesday, citizens! As you can see, I survived the tween party. Barely. By the very skin of my teeth. We ended up with 8 girls. They spent most of the day creating their own drama, where there was none, and then they played divide and conquer. My daughter locked her bedroom door and while I was trying to unlock it, half the girls decided to go for a walk. Huh?!!! I told my daughter to get them all back in my yard, as they were MY responsibility. I dont understand how these girls just decide to go for a walk around the neighborhood, when their parents left them here under MY watch! They all got back here, but Ill tell you... it was a frightening glimpse into whats ahead as my girl heads into middle school. It was ugly, and I have my work cut out for me. But Im pretty sure I am done with large crowds of them in my house. No sooner had I cleared out the party crowd, than my girls dear friend since 2nd grade pulled in the driveway! She moved to North Carolina last summer, and was in town for a visit, so I made arrangements for her to spend the night here. It was so good to see her mom, with whom I had become very close. We got to sit and chat for about an hour before she had to get her son back to her sisters house to get some sleep. Our girls played some Super Mario Bros., very quietly, and I went to bed around 1. I couldnt keep my eyes open, which, I guess is a good thing. What a day. And now, this dear friend will be heading out at 10 AM for other events on her traveling agenda. And then, well figure out what to do with the rest of our day. For me, that will include cleaning out my clothes closet:) Its a very exciting life I have here...dont be jealous:) So, until the next tragedy (or comedy) befalls me, I will wish you all a terrific Tuesday!
