Happy new year everyone! I finished 2014 by working my 7th day at SFPL! My sweetie-pie spouse took me out to dinner to celebrate this and New Years Eve. Today Im reflecting on my good fortune with regards to work. Im very grateful for the lovely friendships Ive made while working at the Pacifica Libraries these last ~10 years, plus other relationships formed during the 11 years prior while working with and for SMCO. I love my new job and all the learning process that goes with it, like finding my way to and from the restroom without getting lost! My coworkers are kind, friendly and patient. Ive been taking BART and walking up the 49 stairs (but whos counting) to the street level. I also have a new work space I cant wait to set up once my computer is installed. I can honestly say I wouldnt be where I am today if not for my Deaf daughter, Gina Marie, for whom I learned to sign; and Jeanine Asche who kicked me in the booty and said, 15 years ago, Yes, you ARE going to library school with that endearing smile of hers. Thanks to you both for these gifts youve given me.
