Happy to announce that the City of Olivette has received the results from our City Parks Protective Initiative petition and it has been validated and confirmed by the Board of Elections! Processing Summary: 761 accepted signatures (91%) Minimum Signature required: 605 Tuesday Aug 12, 2014 at the City Council meeting Paul Martin City of Olivette Attorney reported: on Friday Aug 8th, 2014 “The city received from the board of election commissioners the results of their review and certification of the signatures submitted for the ballot propositions for people to vote on decisions of the council that involved change to the parks or sale or lease of the parks” He then went on to state: it is his understanding that there were enough signatures to qualify for submission to the ballot and that the next step is for him to conduct a legal analysis to determine the legality of the ballot proposition and the wording of the ballot proposition to see if Olivette can safely put it on the ballot. He hopes to have it completed by the next City Council meeting Aug 26, 2014. Petition timeline: June 2, 2014 – Myra G.
