Happy two year Kasai anniversary, my little love. You have been through so much in your short life, yet you still bring joy into this world every single day. You are the light of my life. This day will forever be met with tears and heartache. It was the hardest day of my life, but that surgery did exactly what it was intended to. There is no cure for biliary atresia. If left untreated, most children with BA wouldnt live past the age of two. The Kasai operation only buys us time. Precious time for Ben to grow strong enough to undergo a liver transplant. Ben has grown very strong and is waiting patiently for his life saving liver. Today, we will play outside, snuggle tight, play games of peekaboo that send him into fits of giggles, kiss him way too much, and praise God for all the good in his life.
