Hard Lessons When your options for living become limited by hardship - rather than, say, by the excitement of focus on personal choice - your challenge is to find the love that created such a reality. It may seem easier to let the negative outlook take over as it rises first to take credit, and fall into the despairs of a world against you that has all the power. But that will never be true. Behind it all, there was a loving intention to help you break old habits to find your way to new views. For example, notice how often people credit an illness years later with forcing the personal changes they would not have made otherwise? So rather than feel the pain of what you cannot do and wish that you could (that will return in good time), offer curiosity for what you must do to get through, to turn things around with more and not less consciousness. New opportunities will come forward, new doors will open as you learn to close old by choice. Truly, it is not something good but something increasingly bad for you that you can no longer afford to do, as you are on the threshold of massive discoveries for how abundant and generous is the wide open universe. If it were not so, you would not risk yourself to your own worse reactions at this time. From the depths of your being, you said God, I dont know how else to get myself to stop and change without a greater cost now, so Im going to pay this steep price just to limit myself and hope for the best. And God said, I will be with you, lets hope for the best together.
