Harry James in action, from the 1937 movie Hollywood Hotel which featured Benny Goodman and his Orchestra. At the time, the band had Goodman on clarinet, James on trumpet, and Gene Krupa on drums. The Goodman Quartet included Lionel Hampton on vibraphone, and Teddy Wilson [who was born in Austin] on piano. All the above personnel would go on to perform in the historical jazz concert at Carnegie Hall on 16 January 1938.
