Has America Become a Soft Dictatorship? The spiritual underpinnings of our nation have been very public from its inception. They have been under assault for over 100 years with little push back by Christians until the late 1970s. The bulk of the damage had been done by that point. Once the spiritual basis was generally removed it became easier to ignore the Constitution and move to a soft dictatorship which simply ignores the House and Senate and simply writes decrees into law. The progression over the last 100 or so years is interesting and a bit disconcerting: EXECUTIVE ORDERS ISSUED by US Presidents in the recent 100 years+/- Teddy Roosevelt - 3 All Others until FDR - 11 in 16 years Truman - 5 in 7 years Ike - 2 in 8 years Kennedy - 4 in 3 years LBJ - 4 in 5 years Nixon - 1 in 6 years Ford - 3 in 2 years Carter - 3 in 4 years Reagan - 5 in 8 years Bush - 3 in 4 years Clinton - 15 in 8 years George W. Bush - 62 in 8 years Obama - 923 in 3 1/2 years I wonder how long it will be before an Executive Order is issued disbanding the House, Senate and Supreme Court?
