Has anyone ever considered the crew may have hijacked there own plane for valuables on board? Sounds crazy but it explains a lot of things. If a crew member were aware ahead of time of a large bank cash transfer or a diamond dealer on board tranfering millions in diamonds (either not uncommon), the plane could have been hijacked in the following manner: 1. at cruise altitude, the transponder and ACARS deactivated to mask the plane and hide the diversion, making it appear at first the plane crashed inthe ocean in the first 90 minutes, 2 Divert the plane to a pre-determined location far from land and a location no one would ever think to look ( south Indian Ocean and near the limits of the range of the plane), 3. Ditch the plane in the ocean on the leeward side of an island where the seas are calm ( two uninhabited islands are near the search area and ditching has been done successfully in the past). 4 With pre-planning a boat could have been prepositioned to retrieve the crew member(s) and valuables. The water around these islands is only 100-200 feet deep and if the aircraft sank too soon the conspirators could have used SCUBA gear to get at the valuabes in the cargo hold (whatever that may be). By the time anyone figured out what had taken place they would be long gone. It would be worth considering if any shipments of cash or valuables were on board. This would explain why no terrorists have taken responsibility, why the airplane flew to the South Indian Ocean (where else could they go to hide their theft and the plane). Plus they could have easily reduced any threats from the passengers by lowering the cabin pressure to evacuate necessaary oxygen.( passenger oxygen will only last for 15 minutes-crew oxygen will last 3 times that). The plane made deliberate turns and set a deliberate course.
