Has anyone ever had osteosarcoma in the hip/pelvic area? This is location of my 15 year old sons primary tumor. If so, what type of surgeries and experience have you had? Unfortunately, my son had a major hip surgery (3-3-14) not knowing it was OS - we were told by Oncologist it was a benign tumor, synovial chondromatosis. Pathology report from surgery indicated OS. Unfortunately, he did not have the chemo needed before the surgery. And it has moved to both lungs. Now being told he will have to have another major hip surgery to walk again. My 15 year old son was a very active athlete and had a promising future to play college football. This has shut down everything he has known or enjoyed for 15 years. My son is now being treated at St. Jude Childrens Hospital in Memphis, TN. Any feedback/support would be appreciated.
