Has it ever occurred to anyone that football is usually played in a stadium by teams named for ferocious beasts such as tigers, bears, etc.; meanwhile, baseball is usually played on a diamond in a park by teams named for far more cuddly creatures such as. . .well, the Cubs. . . or for politically weak groups such as Indians, Braves, etc. . . or pieces of clothing as in. . . the Red Sox and the White Sox. . .or even for benevolent celestial beings like the Angels. . . Im sure there are many examples which point otherwards than those above-mentioned, but doesnt it seem that the sincerest baseball fans are more civilized than the sincerest football fans? Of course, I admit freely that I am an uncivilized Bama football fan. . .
