Has it ever occurred to us that at a particular hierarchy in the Nigerian political class, there are no politicians, neither do we have parties and political differences. At that level, like a large non-demarcated room, members operate happily hands-in-hands for the betterment of one another. Personality divides are not tailored alongside tribes, religions or parties like we have at lower hierarchies close to the media and the masses. Between 1999 and now, it should be obvious that the type of democracy we enjoy has one single pattern. To me, while activists were blindly canvassing for democracy then, few individuals had already cornered the core of its essence. Why is it that all supposedly supportive organs of democracy are working against it in Nigeria? The media has been bought to make the people more idiotic. The judiciary already lends its noble robe to the pigs. The civil society is off the track in search of its dead soul. As we move deeper into 2014, the Year of Posters, we realize that our ideological fights, media stunts, social media analyses, religious scheming, ethnic bigotry, patriotic sufferings, among many others do not count and may never count. Because they have just been programmed not to count. We have been programmed long ago to be just like this; masses. Probably, fools.
