Hate not laborious work, neither husbandry, which the most High has ordained. (ecclesiasticus 7:15) go to the ants you sluggard consider their ways and be wise, which thy have no guide, overseer, or no ruler, they provide themselves food in the summer and gather their food in the harvest. how long will you sleep sluggard, when will you arise out of your sleep. A sluggard buries his hand int the dish he is to lazy to bring it back to his mouth. We were not idle when we were with you, nor did we eat anyone’s food without paying for it. On the contrary, we worked night and day, laboring and toiling so that we would not be a burden to any of you. We did this, not because we do not have the right to such help, but in order to offer ourselves as a model for you to imitate. For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: “The one who is unwilling to work shall not eat.” We hear that some among you are idle and disruptive. They are not busy; they are busybodies. Such people we command and urge in the Lord Jesus Christ to settle down and earn the food they eat. And as for you, brothers and sisters, never tire of doing what is good.(2 thessalonians 3:7-12) A slothful man is compared to a filthy stone, and every one will hiss him out to his disgrace. A slothful man is compared to the filth of a dunghill: every man that takes it up will shake his hand.(ecclesiasticus 22:1-2) Anyone who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with their own hands, that they may have something to share with those in need.
