Haunted House returns for Halloween events By John Cargile Gazette Staff Writer NORTHPORT – It’s been four years since the city of Northport had a Halloween event like the one planned for this year. Brenda Ewart, marketing specialist for 95.3 The Bear, addressed the Northport City Council Monday night and said Townsquare Media that owns the radio station, will host the “Main Avenue Mortuary” at a home on Main Avenue across from the historic Maxwell-Peters home from Oct. 10 to Oct. 31. Weeknight times will be 7 p.m. until 10 p.m., and weekends will be 7 p.m. until midnight. The cost will be $15 per person. In addition, the radio station is hosting the inaugural “Bama Zombie Dash” that will be held at Kentuck Park on Oct. 27th. The course will start at Kentuck Park and take persons to the haunted house and back to the park. Ewart said $1.00 from the proceeds would be used for the West Alabama Boys and Girls Club. The cost for the event is $30 per person.
