Have YOU heard of Slenderman? I am stunned by this story. Two 12-year-old girls have been accused of luring their friend who trusted them into a game of hide and seek and then stabbing her many times. Why? These young girls say they did so to impress Slenderman, a fictitious Internet bogeyman. Their plan? To kill their friend and run away to Slendermans fictitious mansion and live happily ever after. Have our children actually become so desensitized by the many forms of media/violence that they are exposed to that they are now unable to discriminate between reality and fantasy? Are YOU on top of this? As much as I would like to say I am and should be, I had NEVER heard of this character Slenderman before.
